People The founders of OnSite Software have a unique combination of experience as fire protection contractors and as fire protection software developers. We've been contractor owners, estimators, designers, project managers and inspectors. We pioneered fire sprinkler design software in the mid 80's and have continued life safety inspection software through today. After earning an Electrical Engineering degree specializing in computers and communications from Drexel University he continued a consulting business started in grad school. He has written and sold technical software since 1979. In 1983 he introduced a product for CAD design of fire alarm systems for high-rise buildings. In 1985 he founded Alpha Fire Protection, Inc, a fire protection contracting company and wrote a hydraulics and CAD system for internal use. This system was sold to Central Sprinkler and became SprinkCAD. From 1986-2002 he was head of development and lead programmer for SprinkCAD while co-managing Alpha Fire Protection. Duties with Alpha Fire Protection included all aspects of a 30 fitter contractor including sales, design, project management, shop management, service and inspections. In 2002 he cofounded OnSite Software developing software for the mobile and handheld markets. Thomas Paolini is Chief Technology Officer for OnSite Software. Tom has worked as a software developer since 1985 with Avante-Guard Computing, Alpha Design, Aramark Corp, Breakaway Solutions and Ajunto Corp. as well as working as an independent software development contractor with Wolff Data Systems and BCS Solutions. In 10 years working with SprinkCAD, in addition to development, Tom was Support Manager, National Sales Manager and established the help desk and QC programs. In 2002 Tom cofounded OnSite Software.
